I’m elated to see A24 behind this production. They’re the perfect team to bring a nostalgic, surreal, dreamlike horror film like this to life.

Based on a 2019 4chan post, this concept has fueled creepypastas, video games, and now a movie. Somehow claustrophobic and infinite at the same time, the “backrooms” can be described as a liminal space of nothingness that creates fear and dread around every corner.

The basic lighting and stillness alone create a strong sense of unease and set the perfect stage for horror.

We’re really looking forward to this one—easily our most anticipated horror film of the year.
